Dave Sweyer, CEO/Co-Owner of CAMS, has been with the company since 1998. He started the Community Management division in 1998 and has since grown to over 160 Community Associations.
Dave has a strong background in General Management. He worked at GE, Alcatel, and Allied Signal in a number of management positions. His Educational background includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt University, and MBA, Duke University.
Mike Stonestreet, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, President/Co-Owner of CAMS, leads the business development and community development consulting efforts at CAMS and adds his unmatched subject matter expertise to matters throughout the company. Mike previously served as General Manager for Cape Hatteras Development Corporation in the developing of communities in the Cape Hatteras area. Mike also served as Operations Manager and handled the Rental Department and actively sold Real Estate for ERA First Priority. Mike founded and served as General Manager for Home Owners Management, Inc. (HOAM), a Community Association Management Company in Wilmington, NC. In 1991 Mike founded Community Association Management Specialists (CAMS), one of the leading Community Management Companies in NC. Mike merged CAMS with Century 21 Sweyer & Associates in February 2003.
Mike has received extensive training from the Community Association Institute, including graduation from the Professional Management Development Program, a five-week course of study in Washington, DC. Mike holds the Certified Manager of Community Association (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation from the Institute and the prestigious Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation. Mike also served as past President of the Community Association Institute; North Carolina Chapter Board of Directors and currently serves on the CAI National Designation Ethics Task Force and CEO-MC Committees.
Mike Stonestreet has extensive experience in the initial development and on-going operations of marinas, wet slips and dry storage facilities. As a marina owner himself, Mike has first-hand experience with the needs of marina users and with the day-to-day operations of such a full-service facility.
Cathie Johnston, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Vice President New Business Development, has 19 years Community Management experience and holds several certifications including the prestigious Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation which she has held since 1996. Cathie has worked extensively with developers in forming the property owners associations in their new residential communities and commercial developments. Cathie merged her business with CAMS in May 2006.
